Description

Top down drone capture of a humpback whale in her final second on the surface before completely submerging back into the Atlantic ocean after taking a big beautiful breath of air. This capture was actually taken during a drone maneuver to get back in front of the whale which caused dramatic glare in the shot. With humpbacks off the coast of New York I retain a minimum of 150ft approach distance as not to disturb them and the NOAA recommended distance is 100ft in my area. I gave up editing this one about 8 months ago, but fresh eyes this month help me make lemonade out of the lemon. Taken with A Mavic 3 Cine (slightly zoomed) in Southampton, NY USA.
